Campus Life Overview

Life at Holden Christian Academy is filled with opportunities for students to grow academically, spiritually, and personally—both inside and outside the classroom. Our vibrant community offers programs and experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, service, and connection.

Food for Life
Through our Food for Life program, students learn about nutrition, gardening, cooking, and the joy of sharing meals. This hands-on experience helps them develop healthy habits while fostering an appreciation for God’s creation and the importance of community.

Field Trips
HCA’s middle school students enjoy annual trips that combine learning, adventure, and spiritual growth. These journeys—whether exploring historical sites, engaging in outdoor challenges, or serving in new communities—help students build independence, deepen friendships, and broaden their worldview.

Arts
The arts are a cornerstone of campus life at HCA, giving students the chance to explore their God-given creativity. From visual arts to music, theater, and beyond, our programs encourage self-expression, confidence, and appreciation for beauty and craftsmanship.

Before/After School Program
Our Before/After School Program provides a safe, engaging environment where students can complete homework, enjoy enrichment activities, and build friendships. This program extends the sense of community beyond the school day, offering working families peace of mind.

Vacation Program
During school breaks, our Vacation Program offers fun, themed activities that keep students active and engaged. Whether through creative projects, sports, or special events, children enjoy meaningful experiences while families benefit from flexible, dependable care.

Weekly Chapel
K-8 students, teachers, & staff gather on Mondays at 8:45am for announcements, student-led worship, and solid biblical teaching from local pastors and church leaders.

Spiritual Emphasis Weeks
Two special weeks are carved out of our normal routines each year to help focus our hearts on God’s truth, growing relationships, and intentionally engaging with Scripture.

Field Trips
Students and teachers take regular field trips to enhance learning and make connections to our curriculum.

Electives Program
This After School Electives Program is offered to students in Grades 3-8, and include on-campus and off-site enrichment activities.  Electives may include horseback riding, gym games, nature walks, robotics, coding, chess, etc.

Daily Recess
We highly value unstructured, outside time for every student every day.

Outdoor Learning Opportunities
Whether having instructional time in our Outdoor Classroom, exploring on our nature trail, or having a lesson in our “grove”, students have regular opportunities to learn in nature at HCA.

Certified Nature Explore Playspace
Certified in 2018, our Nature Explore Playspace enhances learning for our Preschool and Kindergarten students.  Combining natural elements with centers for water, music, performance, and building – the stage is set for our little learners to grow in their understanding of God’s world through imaginative play.

At HCA, campus life is more than just a collection of programs—it’s an intentional environment where students can discover their passions, grow in their faith, and develop skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
