Alumni Stories
I appreciate the community aspect of the school as a whole. I loved how all of the kids knew each other and got the chance to interact with one another from kindergarten all the way up to eighth grade. This was especially the case when we would do Timothy groups, at which I have vivid memories of being both the little kids getting to spend time with the middle schoolers and feeling they cared about us, and getting to be the middle schoolers and the leaders of the school and being able to pour into and mentor in a sense the younger students….I am really passionate about HCA and the way that they do school differently than everyone else, by emphasizing community and hands on experiences to aid in learning for their students. I felt safe, wanted, and loved during my 9 years at HCA, both by the teachers and my peers. I believe HCA isn’t just a school, it’s a family of fellow believers striving to disciple the next generation year after year so they can go out and do the same.

HCA will always remain my home away from home. Going there from kindergarten all the way through 8th grade is still one of the greatest experiences in my life. To this day, most of the friends that I still hang out with are from my time at HCA. I remember the academics being challenging but the support and care of the teachers always helped me through it. Going into high school was surprising for me because most of my peers were not nearly as prepared as I felt. When most people were struggling or complaining about classes, they felt like a breeze to me. Besides God’s grace I attribute a lot of that to HCA’s education. The reason for that was because – though the teachers were full of grace and care – they never let us get away with slacking off or delivering subpar work. This was because of their care for us and wanting us to succeed.

I’m a huge fan of Christian education! After graduating from a private christian grade school, i went to private Christian high school and after that I also went to private Christian college! I think the principles and knowledge I gained was the most valuable aspect of HCA

The emphasis on students’ walk with Christ is what made the largest impact on me in part because of who my parents are. The seeds that were planted at school were watered at home, and vice versa. Partnering with parents seems to be the key to making the seeds planted grow in fertile soil.

The support system between faculty and students, the enriching environment, well-rounded education, and the commitment to ensuring all students feel safe, wanted and loved…. To this day, even as a university graduate student, HCA was my best, most rewarding, and most enriching educational experience
