Elementary School

Would your child enjoy being a Pharaoh for a day? Becoming an inventor from 1893? Constructing a pyramid, a medieval castle, or a ziggurat? Would they like exploring the life of a pond from the shoreline—or maybe even a few steps in?! At HCA, elementary students learn to think and reason for themselves because they understand the big picture. They engage with concepts in an integrated and experiential way!

At the heart of every strong elementary education are the basics. Mastering the skills of reading, writing, and mathematics enables children to read, think critically, and understand the world, humanity, ideas—and how all these relate to God. These foundational skills are taught at HCA in a logical, sequential, and enriching manner. Because mornings are prime times for learning, they are carefully protected to allow children uninterrupted time to grasp these core concepts.

Curriculum at the elementary level includes Big Ideas for Math, Shurley Grammar, FUNdations (K-3rd), & John Collins.

Beyond the basics, HCA elementary students are given daily opportunities to move, explore, enjoy the outdoors, build relationships with peers, create, and grow in their relationship with God and His Word.

Whether they are digging into soil for a gardening project, preparing a dramatic presentation for Fine Arts Day, or quietly reflecting during Bible lesson, our students are immersed in meaningful moments that shape both intellect and character. At HCA, learning is not just about mastering content—it’s about inspiring a lifelong love for discovery, fostering resilience, and cultivating a heart that seeks Biblical wisdom & truth.

In chaotic, confusing times, HCA’s elementary school offers a safe haven for young learners.
